this and that

Ah, it's 10:30 on a friday and I'm still in my pajamas. I do enjoy that from time to time. However I know I'm going to have to get up and get going eventually, as we have a lot to do today. At least I didn't have to get up at 7:15 like usual.

The first on our agenda is stopping at the apartment complex to drop off our deposit. Yes, we got the apartment that we liked! We were approved on Tuesday, the same day we submitted our application. I was freaking out thinking my credit wouldn't be good enough or something, but obviously that wasn't the case.

Now, of course, comes the fun part...packing! I hate packing with a passion. Actually, I hate the entire moving process. It's always a hassle and it always takes me ages to unpack everything. I've moved more than enough in my life and I've come to hate it. But, hopefully this will be the last time I'll have to move for a while.

I'm greatly looking forward to being back in New Albany, which is much closer to work. It'll cut quite a bit of time off of my commute every day and hopefully allow me a little more time to sleep in the morning. Not that I don't get enough sleep, but maybe I can push it so I don't have to get up til 7:30. heh.

As I said, we're going to drop off the deposit today so we'll get some more information about moving and what not. We are looking to move May 1st. Well, I thought the end of April but Mike wants it to be the 1st of may so we don't have to pay for april and then again for May. Which is understandable. However, that happens to fall on Derby weekend. Which of course is always crazy in the Louisville Metro Area. It's not usually terrible on this side of the river, but people are always busy with parties and what not. Plus, for some reason, we're always busy at work. In fact, we worked last Derby. (although to be fair, it's such a big deal around here, they consider it a holiday so I get paid double time...) I'm hoping they'll let us have off so I don't have to work from 6-2:30 and then turn around and move the rest of the day. yuck.

May 1st is also our 3 year anniversary. I guess that's a nice anniversary activity, right? lol

At any rate, despite the stress that comes with moving, I'm generally excited. I'm looking forward to having my own place again. Don't get me wrong, it's been just fine living with Aaron's mom while I got my car paid off, but it's been 4 years since I've had a place to call my own. (damn) I'll be happy when I start decorating the way I like again, and generally having the run of the place. Also it'll be really great to have my stuff NOT confined to one room in the house. Although the room at the apartment is quite a bit bigger than the one we're in now.

So over the course of the next month we need to get everything packed, figure out how we're going to actually get everything moved, and also figure out what we have and don't have. It's funny when you move and forget the little things that you'll need. Like a trash can and dish towels. Luckily I think we'll only need little things. I have tons of stuff from when I was married. Furniture, dishes, pots and pans, appliances, etc. I just hope it'll be useful since most of it has been in boxes since 2006.

Anywho, after dropping off the deposit we have to go to Louisville to run a few errands. But at least it's a lovely day. And as long as my allergy meds kick in and this stupid headache goes away, I think I'll be ok.

I reckon I'll update again when we know more about when we're moving. In the mean time, here are some pics of the apartment complex! :)

The Pool

The only other pic of the apartments I could find online. This isn't what our building will look like, but it gives you a general idea.
